Blue train just happens to be the best  friends Folk w/Shades of Blue could have.  Always there, offering their performances for fund raisers, sharing their equipment, and attending all events in support of fellow musicians.   Most importantly, they share their talents and joy of music.

Thank you Jim, Tracy, Dave, Brad & Hardy.

Hard driving bluegrass, soul touching blues, heart warming traditional music. Your always lucky to witness the gathering of these dedicated musicians.   Dedicated to their craft and the traditions of passing it on.

Their love of music and the fun they have sharing it shows!  Look for them at local events in Holly, Metamora and Lapeer too!

And if you have questions about music, Blue Trains’ generosity makes them the folks to ask!

Be sure to ask Dave to show you his resonator!

Bill Bynum 3/25/2007

Although  a Detroit native, Bill Bynum’s musical roots are deep in the south.  His parents migrated from the W. Memphis, Arkansas area to Michigan’s steel industry in the 1940’s, bringing like many, their love for bluegrass and country music.  Bill and his siblings grew up listening to artists like Johnny Cash & Buck Owens on Detroit's country radio station “The Big D”, through an old am radio.

It was Detroit Rock that drove Bill’s early musical career.  But in 1999, Bill heard “Yours Forever Blue” by Steve Earle and The Del McCoury Band on Public Radio.  At that moment a passion developed as he found himself with a  “non-stop” desire to hear and play those songs.  From that moment on, Bill started writing and playing live whenever and wherever he could.

Bill was recently 1st Place Winner in the 2004 Metro Detroit Songwriting Showcase with his song “Lovin’ You” and the 2006 Open Mic Artist of the Year at the Ark in Ann Arbor, MI.

Bill has written a number of songs which deliver a story with strong emotional content and has collaborated with bluegrass industry legend, Pete Goble.

This will be Bill's second time gracing the Old Town Hall stage.    Bill is a perfect representation of Michigan talent to open for Texan natives, Cadillac Sky.
